The stock is really amazing to look at. The light part of the stock has a natural sheen to it. It is iridescent. You can watch the stripes disappear and reappear by rotating the stock in the light (see pics of the butt stock). This Special Tiger Curly Maple Stock went through days of custom refinishing to achieve a Bush-Country Tiger Camo look to enhance the striping. The stock was stripped down with a chemical stripper, left to dry, sanded down until the stock was completely white, converted the stock for the Takedown, stained with a reddish gunstock stain, then stained with a dark walnut stain, then was stripped and sanded leaving the striped grain a dark reddish brown, then it was dyed with a mixture of orange and medium brown alcohol based dye to darken the light part of the wood, then was coated with shellac, then sanded smooth, then coated with Pure Dark Tung-Oil, then coated with a Tung-Oil Varnish, then finally coated with a blend of Bee's Wax, Carnuba Wax and Orange Oil.
